Great Selections From The New Testament
The 4 Gospels - Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John
The real momentum behind the New Testament is
the metamorphosis the religion underwent with the birth of Jesus Christ.
Once God set foot on this Earth and allowed himself to suffer and die as any
other man, ancient customs of animal sacrifice were now unnecessary, as the
ultimate sacrifice had already been given. All aspects of Jesus's life are
extraordinary. Each of the beginning books in the New Testament detail the
life of Jesus Christ from a different perspective, in an effort to give all
Christians a well-rounded of picture of our Lord and Savior.
The Story Of Stephen - The First Christian Martyr -
Acts 6-7:60
The name Stephen hold a place in both God and
Christians' hearts. Stephen was one of the first seven deacons to assist
the apostles in the new Jerusalem church. Stephen had both the honor and
misfortune to be stoned to death as the first Christian. Unknown to most
people, Saul who later converted to Paul, helped take part in his murder by
maintaining garments of those performing the stoning. Stephen's last words
were "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit. Do not hold this sin against them."
It's a very powerful story.
